School District Election Results

The people have spoken, or about 1,358 of them, to be exact, out of the 7,600 who were eligible to vote in today's school district election.

The school budget passed, with 750 voting in favor of the administration's proposal and 608 voting against it. For more background about the issues involved in this year's vote on the budget, click here.

Voters also had an opportunity to select two of four candidates running for the school board. The two winners are Barbara Parmly and Sasha Hayes. The votes came in as follows:

Barbara Parmly - 849

Sasha Hayes - 720

Maranda Zocchi - 485

Zayd Eljamal - 342

The ballot also contained two other propositions, both of which were approved.
